This is great to see, and Mark is a first-rate scholar. Surely the author is not correct, however, in saying that “‘Georgetown University was one of the first schools that to offer a course on hip-hop, entitled “Sociology of Hip-Hop—Urban Theodicy of Jay-Z’” — unless she means “one of the first” very, very loosely, indeed. I was teaching courses on hip-hop in the 1990s, and I am fairly sure that there were others, as well, whereas Prof. Dyson’s course (which I am sure is excellent) is new, this year. There are a great many hip-hop courses being taught all over North America, and even outside North America.(I, for instance, taught one for several years in the UK.) This fact would have been, in my view, relatively simple to check.

This review is equally as bad as the movie. A book somewhere committed suicide after understanding criticism like this exists even within the blog world. The American mythos of love fitting within a two hour timeframe is often simplistic and trite, but the dangling modifiers and and lack of direction in this review would be of the same caliber. Ummm bop, Handon, ummm bop.

Great review! I’ll keep tuning in!

I was the “friend” in Will Rimers article..and agree with all written about Dean Smith.

Coaches can be replaced, but not human beings such as Dean Smith. He is a great and irreplaceable man.

And this young kid Rimer can write !!!
